Headwaters of the Mississippi

We've always wanted to go to the headwaters of the Mississippi because we lived at the bottom of the Mississippi (in New Orleans) and now we live so close to the beginning of it! So we were thrilled when we realized the West's lake home was only 20 miles from Itasca, where the headwaters are. One cooler morning we took a trip over there and got lots of pictures of this historic place!
